Game of Design 

The Nike Shanghai 2017 product line was the result of careful research and design, with the aim of providing athletes with the best possible support during their sports activities. From the very beginning, we knew that we wanted to create a line that was both functional and stylish, reflecting the dynamic spirit of Shanghai.

Our design language was focused on simplicity and abstraction, with an emphasis on using only the most basic and fundamental visual elements. We wanted the products to speak for themselves, without the need for excessive ornamentation or decoration.

The pattern combination used in the design was inspired by the Chinese characters for "Shanghai". We saw an opportunity to create a playful game of deconstruction, by splitting the characters into their individual strokes and scattering them across the products. This not only created a visually striking pattern, but also allowed us to connect the product line more deeply to the city of Shanghai itself.

We were inspired by the vibrant energy and playfulness of Shanghai, and wanted to reflect that spirit in the design of our product line. By creating a sense of whimsy and fun, we hoped to inspire athletes to push their limits and embrace their playful side. The Nike Shanghai 2017 product line is a true reflection of our commitment to innovation and design, and we're proud to offer it to athletes around the world.
