50 Times We Saw Our Life

A documentary photo series by Yusin
Photography by Yusin

You might have come here out of curiosity—wondering what a designer’s home looks like. Is it always tidy? Carefully styled? Filled with beautiful objects? You’re welcome to look for those things—we didn’t try to hide them.

But if you stay just a little longer, you might begin to notice something else: the step stools our kids use in the kitchen, the hand towel hanging slightly off, a small contraption left by our son on the sofa, the broken lamp we never replaced, a rug taken over by toys, the retired traffic light in the corner, or the table caught in the slant of a mirror.

Everything you see is real. Nothing was cleaned up. Nothing was rearranged. Yusin simply walked through the space and took photos—step by step, frame by frame. She didn’t try to “document our home.” She just pointed the camera at what was already there.

Each frame carries a trace of what it feels like to live in a space, not just decorate one.

At some point, you might spot a rabbit, jumping into the frame from our front yard. It wasn’t invited. It wasn’t planned. But it showed up—just like life does. And that’s the point.

These photos don’t try to explain. They’re not a lifestyle statement. They’re not “design.” They are simply how we live—things we use, choices we make, evidence that we were here.

You don’t need to understand photography. You don’t need to know if the chairs are rare or the lamp is limited edition. Just slow down. Look a little longer. Maybe you’ll start noticing the parts of your own home you’ve never really seen before.

We’re not telling you what life should look like.
We’re just quietly inviting you to look again.
